How do I register to attend the International Forum?
You can register through our secure internet site by credit card (Visa or Master Card) or you can send a cheque to WUSC at 1404 Scott Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 4M8. Cheque must be received by WUSC and post-marked no later than Oct 28, 2011.
Should I make my own reservations with the Delta Ottawa City Centre Hotel?
No, please indicate your accommodation requirements through the on-line registration system on the WUSC Forum website.
Can I share a room to reduce expenses and can I select my roomates?
Yes, if you require an accommodation, you can make a request when registering for the Forum and WUSC will be collecting all lodging information to try and accommodate all double, triple and quadruple requests as best as possible. If you wish to share a room, please send us the registration number(s) for the other participant(s) you wish to stay with, at your earliest convenience. However, at this time, we cannot guarantee your request will be granted.
How many people can share a room?
Up to four people can share a room. Quad rooms are equipped with two queen size beds. Please note: if you are in a triple or quad occupancy room, you will have to share a bed. It is the responsibility of the occupants to decide on the share of payments and to pay the hotel for their accommodation.
How much will my accommodations cost?
Upon check-in at the Delta Ottawa City Centre, participants to the International Forum that are staying at the hotel will be asked to provide a credit card to pay for their stay. Your accommodation must be paid for and an invoice must be presented at the registration table before receiving your accreditation. Costs are as follows (taxes included):
Single Occupancy: $160.00 per night
Double Occupancy: $ 80.00 per person per night
Triple Occupancy: $ 62.00 per person per night
Quadruple Occupancy: $ 46.50 per person per night
How do I proceed if I wish to stay longer at the hotel?
WUSC will be making hotel reservations from November 9th to November 13th, 2011. However, if you wish to prolong your stay beyond these dates, you are asked to contact the hotel directly and make reservations with them. Please note that we cannot guarantee the same promotional rates that we can offer you during the Forum.
How do I get to Ottawa to attend the International Forum?
It is the responsibility of each delegate to make and to pay for his or her own travel arrangements to attend the Forum.
How can I pay for my registration?
You can either click on this link or go to our website at forum.wusc.ca and look for the International Forum information. Credit cards (Visa and Master Card) and cheques will be accepted during on-line registration. Please note: CHeques must be received by WUSC and post marked no later than Oct. 28, 2011
Is it possible to pay for registration the day of the event?
Yes, cash or credit cards (Visa or Master Card) will be accepted. However, we would appreciate and encourage you to register early, as it helps the event's preparations run as smoothly as possible and makes our event successful.
If I cannot attend the Forum at the last minute, can I be reimbursed?
Our reimbursement policy is as follows:
- 60 days prior to the event – a full refund will be issued minus 10% for service fees.
- 30 days prior to the event – a 50% reimbursement will be provided.
- 29 days or less prior to the event – no refunds will be made.

How do I register to attend the Gala and Awards Ceremony?
If you have registered for the 3 day International Forum package, the Gala and Awards Ceremony are included in your package fee.
For other participants, the Awards Ceremony is by invitation only. If you have received the invitation please RSVP to Fiorella Cruzalegui fcruzalegui@wusc.ca before Nov 6th at noon.

How do I register to attend the Annual Assembly?
By registering to the International Forum, your participation to the Annual Assembly is automatically taken into account.
Should you wish to participate to the Annual Assembly only, you can register for one day.
How can I pay for my registration?
You can either click on this link or go to our website at forum.wusc.ca and look for the International Forum information. Credit cards (Visa and Master Card) and cheques will be accepted during on-line registration. Cheque must be received by WUSC and post marked no later than Oct 28, 2011.
Who can vote at the Annual Assembly?
One delegate appointed by each Institutional Member, one delegate appointed by each Local Committee Member, up to twenty-five delegates selected by the Alumni Members and any Member of the Board of Directors who is not otherwise a voting delegate.
** Note: Alumni Members shall be invited to express interest in serving as voting delegates. Should more than twenty-five Alumni Members volunteer, twenty-five voting delegates will be selected through a postal or electronic secret ballot of all Alumni Members in good standing.
None of the voting delegates shall be Alumni Members currently retained by WUSC as staff members, contractors, consultants, advisors, attorney, agents or representatives. **
IMPORTANT: Institutional Members need to present a letter from their university president and Local Committees must provide the meeting minutes naming their voting delegate. The minutes can be sent by e-mail, by mail or handed to us the day of the event. Here is the information to mail them to us:

I would like to put my name forward as a candidate for one of the positions open on the Board of Directors, how do I proceed?
a) Forty-five days prior to the Annual Assembly, the Nominating Committee will inform all Institutional, Local Committee and Alumni Members of the vacancies to be filled by election at the forthcoming Annual Assembly, and invite nominations for those vacancies.
b) Each valid nomination requires:
- a nominator and seconder, who shall be persons themselves eligible for nomination;
- evidence satisfactory to the Nominating Committee that the person nominated would be prepared to serve if elected.
c) Nominations must be received at the WUSC Head Office at least 21 calendar days before the commencement of the Annual Assembly.
d) Nominations may be filed in writing or by fax or electronic mail, but in the event that fax or electronic mail is used, confirmation in hard copy must be received at the WUSC Head Office before the close of business on the last business day before the Annual Assembly.
e) In addition to the foregoing, the Nominating Committee will seek out and encourage candidates who, in the Committee's view, would make a particularly valuable contribution as Officers or Members of the Board of Directors, and to this end the Committee may itself place names in nomination and is not constrained by the deadline established above.
f) At least 7 days prior to the Annual Assembly, delegates will be provided with the report of the Nominating Committee listing all valid nominations, to be voted on at the Annual Assembly. In addition, at the same time, the Nominating Committee will make recommendations to the membership with regard to the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer.
ELIGIBILITY TO STAND FOR ELECTION
a) Subject to paragraph c) below, the following are eligible for nomination and election to the Board of Directors or any office thereof.
- any delegate to the Annual Assembly,
- any Alumni Member,
- any Member of the Board of Directors;
- any person occupying a senior executive position with an Institutional Member;
- any Member of a Local Committee, if endorsed by the Committee.
b) Where regional considerations are relevant, eligibility may be established either:
- by the candidate's usual place of residence within the relevant region, or
- by current attendance or employment at a post-secondary institution within the region.
All individuals must be at least 18 years old and no individual currently employed or retained by WUSC as a staff member, consultant, contractor, advisor, attorney, agent or representative is eligible for election to the Board of Directors.
